Whether we are using the old CAP system or the new DMT system the telephone signal occupies the first channel. To keep the voice quality of the telephone signal a Low Pass Filter is needed which is shown in Fig. (14). The Low Pass Filter passes the telephone signal to the telephone and blocks the ADSL signal from passing into the telephone and distorting the telephone voice signal.
